«A cantora e pianista de jazz, Diana Krall, iniciou os seus estudos bem cedo. Logo aos quatro anos começa a ter aulas de piano clássico na sua cidade natal de Naimo, no Canadá.
Já no Liceu, forma uma banda de jazz, e aí se inicia na composição, sendo nessa época também fortemente influenciada pela gigantesca colecção de discos do pai (também ele pianista).
No início dos anos 80 Diana ganha uma bolsa de estudo na Berklee College of Music onde desenvolve a sua técnica, mudando-se em seguida para Los Angeles, onde vive durante três anos antes de se mudar para Toronto.
Em 1990 Diana Krall já estava em Nova Iorque onde cantou e fez parte de um trio durante algum tempo. Três anos depois estreia-se nos discos com "Steppin' Out", editado pela Justin Time Records. Em seguida muda-se para GRP e lança, em 1994, "Only Trust Your Heart", um trabalho muito bem recebido pela crítica.
Em 1995 assina pela Impulse! e edita "All for You", um disco de homenagem a Nat King Cole. Dois anos depois segue-se "Love Scenes", um álbum que incluí alguns dos mais preciosos standarts de jazz. E já no final de 1998 é a vez de "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", um EP alusivo à quadra natalícia.
Em 1999 Diana regressa com "When I Look in Your Eyes", o seu trabalho mais aclamado até então e que lhe vale mesmo um Grammy.
As expectativas eram grandes quanto ao sucessor de "When I Look in Your Eyes" e ele surge em 2001 com o nome "The Look of Love". O álbum, gravado com a Orquestra Sinfónica de Londres, chega ao Disco de Ouro em Portugal aquando da sua edição e, duas semanas mais tarde, alcança mesmo o número um do top de vendas nacional. Facto inédito para uma artista de jazz no nosso país.
Em Dezembro de 2003, Diana Krall casa-se com o músico Elvis Costello, um ano depois de se terem conhecido.
No ano seguinte, a cantora e pianista lança "The Girl in the Other Room", álbum que conta com a parceria do seu marido em cinco letras. O disco inclui ainda versões de temas de Joni Mitchell ('Black Krow'), Tom Waits ('Temptation'), Mose Allison ('Stop This World') e do próprio Elvis Costello ('Almost Blue', música gravada originalmente em "Imperial Bedroom", de 1982).
No final de Setembro e em Outubro, Diana Krall passou por Portugal para vários concertos em Lisboa, Porto e Espinho.»
