«Massive Attack é uma banda de trip hop inglesa. O Massive Attack é oficialmente 3D (Robert Del Naja) e Daddy G (Grant Marshall).

Massive Attack foi formado em torno da influente e lendária casa noturna Dug Out e do soundsystem de estilo jamaicano. A casa tocava uma inovadora mistura de hip hop, reggae new wave e antigo house e techno que deu forma a bastante aclamado disco de estréia da banda de 1991, Blue Lines. O segundo álbum, Protection, trazendo Tracey Thorn, vocal do Everything but the Girl e o toaster Horace Andy e produzido pelo Massive Attack e Nellee Hooper, foi lançado em 1994 e similarmente bem recebido - e, como Blue Lines, vendeu mais de dois milhões de cópias. Mezzanine foi lançado em 1998 e além de vender três milhões mundo afora, levou a banda a uma nova direção, conduzida por guitarra - e continha o sublime Teardrop trazendo a vocalista do Cocteau Twins, Elizabeth Frasier.

Horace Andy tem uma importante participação em todos os álbuns da banda como Nicolette. O Massive Attack foi criado em 1988, na cidade de Bristol, na Inglaterra, são um dos pioneiros do gênero (por muitos considerados como os próprios inventores do trip-hop).

O Massive Attack tem até hoje cinco álbuns de estúdio, cada um extraordinário em sua própria maneira. Blues Lines, Protection, Mezzanine, 100th Window e Weather Underground inovaram e deixaram sua marca. Esse último com o colaborador e co-produtor de muito tempo Neil Davidge.

Com esses álbuns aclamados pela crítica somando 9 milhões de vendas, diversos prêmios e um novo disco lançado no início de 2007, foi lançada a coletânia do grupo, um grande lembrete de seu legado musical até agora. O álbum, intitulado Collected, traz faixas escolhidas pela banda, incluindo preciosidades como Unfinished Sympathy, Safe from Harm, Protection, Teardrop e Angel.

A edição especial de Collected contém um CD bônus com uma nova compilação de material raro e retrabalhado assim como novas gravações.

O álbum foi precedido por um novo single, Live With Me, trazendo Terry Callier nos vocais. Composta por Robert Del Naja, Neil Davidge e Terry Callier e produzida por Del Naja e Davidge, essa faixa faz uma volta a um som mais emotivo para o Massive Attack, retendo ainda a produção suntuosa de seus mais recentes discos.»
