«Moloko foi uma banda angloirlandesa de electropop formada por Roisin Murphy de Wicklow (Eire) e Mark Brydon de Sunderland (Inglaterra). Durante a década de noventa, conseguiu convencer muitos jóvens da época com a sua elegante proposta de pop electrónico. A banda separou-se em 2001, mas continuaram a trabalhar juntos pontualmente, editando o DVD “11.000 clicks” e fazendo um pequeno tour acústico em 2006, apresentando o disco compilatorio dos melhores exitos da banda - “Catalogue”.
Desde a sua separacão, Roisin Murphy já publicou dois discos a solo (o último em Outubro de 2007 “Overpowered”, enquanto Mark Brydon está a trabalhar num grande número de pequenos projectos no seu próprio estúdio.

Óptimo som ambiente! «A fusão de géneros e tendências na procura de uma linguagem musical comum na cena de dança mundial é o significado de música no diccionário dos Jazzanova. Este colectivo de Berlim, é formado por um trio de DJs, Jürgen von Knoblauch, Alexander Barck e Claas Brieler, para além dos produtores Stefan Leisering e Axel Reinemer (a.k.a Extended Spirit) e Roskoe Kretschmann (a.k.a Kosma). A cumplicidade musical do sexteto estabeleceu-se em 1995 no Delicious Doughnuts Club da capital alemã, onde todos os membros do colectivo atuavam regularmente como DJs. A música dos Jazzanova passa pelo jazz, drum’ n’ bass ou funk com a mesma naturalidade com que absorve as vibrações das sonoridades latino-americanas. O trabalho feito pelo colectivo germânico tem passado essencialmente pelas remisturas de uma lista infindável de grupos, também ela reflexo do ecletismo atávico dos Jazzanova, onde constam nomes como os United Future Organization, 4 Hero, Incognito, MJ Cole., Karma ou Azymuth. Mas o génio do grupo não se esgota aí. O EP “Caravelle”, de 1998, apareceu como resultado da colaboração dos Jazzanova com Michael Reinboth, da editora Compost Records. A junção prolongou-se para além da edição do disco, resultando num novo catálogo, a JCR. A missão da nova editora foi, a partir de então, revelar algumas pérolas provenientes do jazz da extinta RDA ao mesmo tempo que apostava em novos projetos de orientação jazzy e horizontes rasgados pela música de dança. A obra dos Jazzanova não ficou, no entanto, por aqui. A fundação da Sonarkollektiv foi mais uma importante iniciativa por parte da equipa de Berlim. Objectivo: criar uma aliança entre os melhores DJs de Berlim, com vista à promoção e apoio de potenciais DJs e produtores em ascenção. O “kollektiv” tem servido como base de apoio a inúmeras editoras de pequenas dimensões, como a Airdrops, a Dialog, a Recreation e a Mermaid. A agressividade do mercado, não dando espaço de manobra a artistas com trabalho pouco divulgado ou a editoras em crescimento, encontrou uma base sustentável na SonarKollektiv. Depois de alguns anos em que a busca da assinatura Jazzanova adquiria dimensões quase hercúleas, tal era a dispersão por compilações, vinil ou cds difíceis de encontrar, o sexteto resolveu editar “Remixes 1997-2000” no final de 2000 e disponibilizar uma parte significativa da sua coleção de pequenas obras-primas.» (TRANSCRITO)

«Tudo começou numa noite da Primavera de 1995 no Eigtheenth Street Lounge Bas, em Washington DC. Por entre um copo e outro, Rob Garza e Eric Hilton decidiram conciliar os seus esforços e formar os Thievery Corporation. Depois de confessarem a sua admiração mútua pelo trabalho de compositores brasileiros como Tom Jobim e João Gilberto, e o seu desdém pela maioria da música contemporânea, o duo embarcou numa verdadeira viagem musical. O seu novo álbum, "The Mirror Conspiracy", é o último destino da odisseia do grupo. "Temos ouvido muita música de bandas sonoras do final dos anos 60 e música rara de Itália e do Reino Unido" afirma Garza. "A subtileza dessas composições realmente abriu as nossas mentes para novas possibilidades. Sempre fomos entusiastas da bossa nova, jazz e dub, e agora penso que a linha comum entre esses diferentes géneros é o uso do espaço" acrescenta Hilton. "A música electrónica é muitas vezes fria e mecânica: isso não é atractivo para nós. As nossas influências vêm de produções orgânicas", continua Garza. O uso de diferentes linguagens musicais e a forma como as conseguem incorporar num todo orgânico é, talvez, o motivo pelo qual a sua música se torna difícil de catalogar dentro de um género musical pré-definido". Embora nenhum dos elementos dos Thievery Corporation não se considere músico por definição, ambos tiveram formação musical. Começaram por lançar alguns singles, bem acolhidos no meio, e editados pela sua própria editora, a Eighteenth Street Lounge, Music, em 1996. Ganham notoriedade sobretudo no mundo dj do acid jazz e rare groove e dão um decisivo salto em direcção à celebridade quando uma faixa sua foi incluída no álbum dos respeitados dj's e produtores Kruder & Dorfmeister, "Dj Kick Series", ainda em 1996. Um ano depois, surge o álbum de estreia "Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi", que inclui os seus primeiros singles e alguns temas novos. Editam, em seguida, uma compilação de música electrónica de Washington DC "Dubbed Out in DC". Depois de assinarem pela 4AD, começam a trabalhar no seu segundo LP que foram forçados a adiar devido ao facto dos seus registos terem sido roubados. Em 1999 lançam "Abductions & Reconstructions", uma compilação de remisturas suas para outros artistas e, no ano seguinte, surge "The Mirror Conspiracy". Em Janeiro de 2002, a dupla norte-americana edita novo álbum de remisturas, desta feita para artistas do catálogo da editora Verve, a que chamou "The Sounds from the Verve Hi-Fi". No mês de Setembro, chega novo trabalho de originais, intitulado "The Richest Man in Babylon". Em 2005, aventuram-se no psicadelismo através do álbum "The Cosmic Game", e no ano seguinte lançam a compilação de remisturas "Versions", que fizeram para os mais variados artistas. «Qual a origem do nome “The Prodigy”? Oficialmente o nome deles refere-se ao primeiro sintetizador usado por Liam Howlett, é como ele era chamado Moog Prodigy. Mas há uma outra (possível) explicação para isso: em Inglês a palavra “Prodigy” significa ”Assombroso, Maravilhoso”, ou alguém (Especialmente uma criança) de talentos maravilhosos (”prodígio infantil”). Neste caso, Prodigy refere-se a Liam – O que ele disse sobre isso: ”A primeira vez que eu pensei no nome, obviamente que eu não considerei que poderiam ser 4 pessoas. Era somente eu, anônimo, em minha cama, escrevendo música: the prodigy.”
O Lider da Banda O lider dos Prodigy (apesar do fato de que Keith é o frontman, e Maxim é o MC nos concertos) é Liam Howlett, o ”prodígio” que fica por trás da banda. E embora sem ele basicamente nada de música existiria (Ele toca todos os instrumentos num sintetizador exceto as guitarras, que são tocadas por vários artistas nas faixas), mas sem a existência dos outros 3 (Keith, Maxim e o subestimado Leeroy) eles nunca poderiam ser esta ótima banda – todos os 4 são requesitados para criar ”O sentimento dos Prodigy”.
O primeiro Single Não, a primeira faixa não foi Breathe, nem mesmo Firestarter. Muitas pessoas têm se apaixonado por eles recentemente devido a variedade de estilos e vindo a ser mais “comercial” do que eles eram… Você apenas comprou numa loja de CDs algo chamado como “The Fat Of The Land” (Sim, Eu ouço este CD muitas vezes!) é o terceiro Álbum deles , o primeiro foi Experience, E o segundo Music For The Jilted Generation. O primeiro single deles, de qualquer forma, foi o pré-Experience (Não foi incluído no Experience) What Evil Lurks, que vendeu cerca de 7,000 copias e virtualmente é impossível de achar.
The Prodigy Underground: Você pode ter ouvido falar sobre os Prodigy serem da "area" underground.
